Passion Week: The Dealings of Judas

Tuesday was a day of intense teaching from Jesus, but also the day Judas Iscariot secretly negotiated to betray Him for thirty pieces of silver.

Matthew 26:14–16; Luke 22:3–6

While Jesus spent Tuesday teaching His disciples about the end times and the cost of following Him, Judas Iscariot slipped away to make a deal. He went to the chief priests and asked, “What will you give me if I deliver Him over to you?” They counted out thirty pieces of silver, the price of a slave, and from that moment, Judas watched for his opportunity to betray his Lord. Tuesday shows us that betrayal often begins not with a loud fall but with a quiet compromise made in secret.

Today, examine your own heart. Are you walking closely with Jesus, or are you secretly bargaining with sin for something this world offers? Judas learned that the price of betrayal is never worth it. You cannot serve Jesus while making deals with the enemy. Choose loyalty to Christ now, before quiet compromises turn into open betrayal. He is worthy of your full devotion.

Always choose loyalty to Christ over the empty promises of this world.
