Passion Week: Holy Saturday: The Silence of Waiting

This is the day in between. Jesus lay in the tomb, and the world fell silent. Holy Saturday represents the tension between loss and the promise of hope.

Matthew 27:59–66; John 19:41–42

This is the day in between. Jesus lay in the tomb, and the world fell silent. Holy Saturday represents the tension between loss and the promise of hope. The disciples hid in fear. The enemies sealed the tomb, thinking they had won. It seemed the story was over. But God was working in the silence, and the stone was not the end.

Often in your life, you will experience Holy Saturdays, seasons of waiting where God feels absent and hope seems dead. Do not lose faith in the silence. The tomb could not hold Him, and your situation is not beyond His power. If you are in a season of waiting today, hold on. The silence does not mean God has abandoned you. It means He is about to do something new.
